Our People

We've put together a team with exceptional experience in fund operations and financial markets technology. Before building AlphaDesk members of our team had previously developed trading and risk software for many of the world's largest hedge funds, as well as major sell-side firms and traditional asset managers. We also have extensive experience in fund accounting, performance measurement, and portfolio management.

Our Technology

By using recent advances in technology and design, we've produced a system that avoids the problems of older systems - complexity and high costs - and can be extended and customized without affecting upgrades and product improvements.

  • Cloud service architecture. We are leaders in using cloud services for order and portfolio management. Our cients have had access to cloud based data storage and computing services since 2009.
  • Open source. We make extensive use of some excellent open source software components. This gives us full control over the system, with the benefits of lower costs and well-tested components.
  • Component design. The use of distinct software components reduces complexity and simplifies development and maintenance. For example, security types are defined in plug-ins, so new security types can be added with minimal code changes. The components are tightly integrated into one application.
  • Managed code. Managed code has revolutionized software development in the last decade, and provides superior reliability and much faster development. Our software is written entirely in managed code.
